Improving Security in Multi-Agent Systems by Using a Novel Reputation Model

چکیده
-Multi-agent systems like Peer-to-Peer networks are widely used for content sharing and searching. However, privacy and security are the concerns with such networks as they are vulnerable to attacks due to open, dynamic and anonymous nature. To protect communications over such networks many models came into existence that are based on the reputation or trust of the peers that interact with each other. However, they can not cope with the unpredictable behavior of malicious peers. To overcome this problem and improve QoS (Quality of Service) Das and Islam presented a dynamic trust computation model. In this paper we implement that trust model and build a prototype of multi-agent system to show the proof of concept. The experimental results revealed that the application facilitates dynamic trust computation and achieves secure communication and quality of service by balancing load among the agents. Process algebraic modeling of authentication protocols for analysis of parallel multi-session executions
Many security protocols have the aim of authenticating one agent acting as initiator to another agent acting as responder and vice versa. Sometimes, the authentication fails because of executing several parallel sessions of a protocol, and because an agent may play both the initiator and responder role in parallel sessions. We take advantage of the notion of transition systems to specify authen...
متن کاملA Secure Communication for a Reputation Management Model in Multi-agent System
Recent multi-agent systems are characterized by decentralized control, autonomy and local views. The application of multi-agent systems on open environment such as internet creates new challenges especially with respect to security issues such as authentication, authorization and privacy. The characteristics of multiagent systems introduce vulnerabilities and threats to secured communication. O...
متن کاملSpecifying Standard Security Mechanisms in Multi-agent Systems
Distributed multi-agent systems propose new infrastructure solutions to support the interoperability of electronic services. Security is a central issue for such infrastructures and is compounded by their intrinsic openness, heterogeneity and because of the autonomous and potentially self-interested nature of the agents therein. This article reviews the work that the FIPA agent standards body h...
متن کاملA collusion mitigation scheme for reputation systems
Reputation management systems are in wide-spread use to regulate collaborations in cooperative systems. Collusion is one of the most destructive malicious behaviors in which colluders seek to affect a reputation management system in an unfair manner. Many reputation systems are vulnerable to collusion, and some model-specific mitigation methods are proposed to combat collusion. Detection of col...
متن کاملReputation management in collaborative computing systems
In collaborative systems, a set of organisations shares their computing resources, such as compute cycles, storage space, or on-line services, in order to establish Virtual Organisations aimed at achieving common tasks. The formation and operation of Virtual Organisations involve establishing trust among their members and reputation is one measure by which such trust can be quantified and reaso...
